Tracey Grimshaw presented a story on Monday night
the 4th June 2012 about termites taking over a house.
The termites did indeed take over the house but that is only
because the landlord did nothing to stop it. If the
landlord did care about his house he would have treated
the pests (termites) months or even years ago.
This type of pest (white-ant) attack is extreme and I do feel
sorry for the pest inspector who has had to treat it. In extreme
cases pests or termites will push mud out of the wall or gyprock
and the reason why this happens is because there is not enough
room behind the wall for hundreds, maybe thousands of pest (white-ants).
In this story you saw thousands of flying (winged) termites coming
out of the wall. As a mature termite nest gets to a certain size
they need to take flight and start new colonies, so those winged
termites that were seen are the potential kings and queens of the next colony.
It is lucky for most homeowners in Runcorn, Calamvale, Parkinson,
Algester, Drewvale & Stretton that they will see the early signs
of termite damage and call a professional inspector for termite
protection. Conquer Termites pest inspectors know signs of pest
(white ants) and how they can potentially enter your house in a
concealed matter. All our pest inspectors carry thermal imaging
cameras that can pick up hidden pest.
