Some footings can be 3-4 bricks under the soil. This allows concealed termite or white ant entry. Also, most of the original termite protection programs have expired.

• The high percentage of parklands that have a large number of native eucalyptus trees that normally harbour pest/white ant nests. This is especially so being so close to Rochedale Park and the origins of Bulimba Creek.
